Software built by someone who does the work.
Manifold creates office and field software to manage company operations for companies whose work happens on a job site instead of at a desk. It keeps the office and the crew on the same page, and it records the work even when there’s no signal. This software was designed and built by someone who owns a utility contracting business that’s been doing utility work since 1976. So he built the tools he needed to operate.
What we build
Our office software holds a company’s work in one place. It carries the projects, the people on them, the schedule, and the paperwork each job produces. A manager lays out the work, watches where it stands, and pulls a report when a customer or an inspector asks for one.
Our field tools run on a phone in someone’s pocket. A crew opens the app, sees the day’s work, records what they finished, and measures what they built. It keeps working when the signal drops, which is most of the day on a real site, and it catches up the moment coverage comes back.
Who it’s for
We build for people who work with their hands and keep records for a living. Our first app is built for underground construction and utility contractors. The Manifold family of apps is made with specific industries in mind, built directly for solving their problems and simplifying record keeping.
Our apps
Easementis our field and office app for underground construction and utility contractors. The crew runs the day from a phone, the office runs the jobs from a dashboard, and it keeps working where there’s no signal.
More apps, each built for one trade, are on the way.
How we build it, and how it’s usually built
Most job-site software is built by people who have never done the work, and it shows.
| The Manifold way | The usual way |
|---|---|
| The person who built it has dug a trench. | The people who built it never dug a trench. |
| When a feature doesn’t fit the job, we change the feature. | When a feature doesn’t fit, you change how the crew works. |
| The field app records the work with no signal and catches up when coverage comes back. | The app stops working the moment the signal drops. |
| Every feature turns on or off, so a company runs only the parts it uses. | You get every feature whether you use it or not. |
| We build each app around a real day on a real job. | They build the app around a feature list. |
| The crew records the work as they do it, on a phone in their pocket. | The crew writes the job up later, back at the office. |
